It’s a new year and you will hopefully be wanting to make a whole bunch of improvements in your work life, which will spur you onto even more success in 2018. You always want to be moving forward, and you always want to be improving. Whatever you did last year, this year is time smash past those limits and reach a whole new level.
To help you out, here are a few tips that you should put into practice this year that will help you and lead to you having much more success in reaching your sales quotas.
Firstly, make sure you take great notes. Every single conversation you have with prospects should be properly documented, and even if you do not close the deal then and there, you must take key notes that will help you when dealing with this prospect in the future.
A sales rep who is not properly organised and is not properly informed on their prospects and their recent conversations is not going to be anywhere near as effective as a sales rep who is on top of everything and builds upon each meeting by leveraging it with the information gleaned from the last. Until finally enough progress is made to close the deal. If you fail to properly take notes on each meeting, you will be almost starting from scratch by the time the next meeting comes around. Keep the momentum going, and cross reference your notes with the notes taken from previous meetings.
The second thing to keep in mind, is to always keep calling. Never waste time, you should always be either be strengthening ties with a current prospect, or trying to find new ones. It often takes a bit of time and a few different conversations before you manage to gain enough traction to get deals done, so the more proactive you are in trying to get things moving, the more success you will have in the long run.
In this day and age, social media can be a huge help and can be a tool you can use to generate a large number of prospective clients. If you are not already using social media to your advantage, this year is definitely the time to start. Just remember however, it’s not just using social media that makes you successful. It’s how you use it. Go where the prospects are, build a brand and make an impact. And the clients will be lining up to buy from you.
The last thing I want to share with you, is to stress to you that you need to focus on gaining the trust of your prospects beyond anything else. And that is done by not pushing your products or services, but pushing your knowledge. If they buy into you as a person, and trust in your knowledge and advice, it becomes so much easier to sell the product.
